How we work

At Karitane® we pride ourselves on providing a professional and thorough service whether for a short term placement or more permanent requirements.

We have a personalised approach to all our permanent and casual placements.  Karitane® recognises that every family is unique and has its own special requirements that’s why we take time to talk personally with you and fully understand what your needs are (eg days, times) and to get a feel for you’re the qualities you would like in your ideal nanny or babysitter .

We don’t just send anyone to meet you – all our candidates are carefully selected and submitted to you with your family’s special requirements in mind.

All candidates (including our babysitters) are:

•    personally interviewed in our offices

•    reference checked and

•    police screened.  

Our minimum criteria for our candidates include:

•    Full clear NZ drivers licence

•    a recognised NZ childcare qualification and/ or

•    a minimum of 3 years experience;

•    a first aid certificate.
