Job Description:

We have a lovely family based in Mount Roskill looking for a caring and reliable nanny to join their family, starting 1 February 2027. The family has a happy and active three-year-old son who attends kindy four days a week, from approximately 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, and they are expecting their second little boy in December 2026. The role will involve afternoon support on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 3:30 pm to 7:30 pm, including collecting their son from kindy at 4:00 pm and helping with dinner, bath time and bedtime. Tuesdays will involve daytime support, including helping Mum take their son to gymnastics at 10:00 am and assisting with both children throughout the day, with hours still to be confirmed. The family would also appreciate having the option of occasional Saturday daytime support as needed, although the frequency is yet to be determined. They are flexible and would like to review the days and hours as their needs evolve once the new baby arrives. Their older son has mild eczema, which is generally well managed with specific creams, bath oils and soaps, so the nanny will need to be comfortable following his skincare routine. If possible, the family would also love some occasional support during November 2026 to introduce the nanny to the family and help their son become familiar and comfortable with them before the permanent arrangement begins. With no immediate family support in Auckland, although grandparents help when they can, the family is looking for someone who will become a trusted and caring part of their household and provide practical support during this exciting transition. Mum will have family support around the birth, and Dad plans to take January off work to help the family settle in with their new arrival.
