Job Description:
The family is looking for a nanny for a minimum of 40 hours per week across four days. They are flexible about which days are worked, although each day would need to start at 7.30am. Ideally, the nanny would also have some flexibility to work the occasional evening, bringing the hours to around 40–45 hours per week. Standard hours would generally be 7.30am–5.30pm, with the ability to occasionally work later when the parents have work commitments or functions.
The family is looking for someone who can build a strong relationship with the children, have fun with them and provide a high level of household support to make life easier for both parents. The day would begin by helping Mum with anything needed to get the children ready and out the door, before taking their eldest son, aged six, to school and their second son, who will be nearly three in January, to kindy. The nanny would have use of the family car.
While the older boys are at school and kindy, the nanny would care for the baby, who will be nearly six months old. The family would love the nanny to take the baby to the occasional activity, such as Mainly Music, and help with light household tasks while the baby sleeps. This could include preparing dinner, children’s laundry, making beds and tidying up dishes and mess from the children’s breakfast. The family has cleaners twice a week but would appreciate the nanny helping to keep the home tidy and cleaning up after the children during the day.
In the afternoon, the nanny would collect the older children, bring them home and prepare food and activities for them until the parents return. Their eldest son has extracurricular activities through school, so his pick-up time varies on some days, although the nanny would not be required to transport him to these activities.
The family is looking for someone who would like to stay with them long term. They would ideally suit a nanny who is calm, level-headed and confident managing toddler tantrums, while also being fun, playful and happy to be silly with the children. An interest in sport would be a bonus, as both boys are very sporty.
