Job Description:

We are seeking a calm, capable, and clinically confident professional to provide awake overnight care for our child with complex medical needs in our private family home on Auckland’s North Shore.

This is a high-responsibility role requiring continuous overnight monitoring, seizure response readiness, and gastrostomy feeding support. You will remain awake for the full shift and will be provided with a suitable monitoring chair and workspace.

This position is ideal for someone with nursing, health science, OT, physio, disability support, or rehabilitation experience who is comfortable working independently overnight.

Key Responsibilities

Remain awake and actively monitoring throughout the shift

Monitor equipment and respond immediately to alarms

Follow a documented seizure management plan, including administration of rescue medication when required

Administer medication, food, and fluids via Mickey gastrostomy as scheduled

Maintain accurate overnight documentation

Provide calm resettling support during wake periods

Complete light household tasks during stable periods, including washing, folding, ironing, and occasional organisation

This role does not include deep cleaning or general housekeeper duties.

About You
You are steady under pressure, attentive, and highly reliable.

Preferred background

Health science, nursing, OT, physio, or disability support experience

Experience supporting children with seizures or complex medical needs

Experience with gastrostomy feeding, or willingness to be trained

Paediatric first aid preferred
