Job Description:

A lovely family based in Parnell is seeking an experienced full-time nanny for a permanent role caring for their two-year-old daughter, with a new baby due in October 2026. The position is Monday to Friday from 9:00am–4:00/5:00pm, with an ASAP start for the right candidate. Having recently relocated to New Zealand, the family is looking for someone who can bring a warm, calm, and positive presence into their home. Their daughter enjoys outdoor play, music, reading, painting, and engaging activities, and currently attends Daycare, which she will continue once a nanny is placed. Responsibilities will include managing feeding, nappy changes, sleep routines, preparing and heating meals and snacks, supporting development through play and daily routines, keeping child-related areas tidy, assisting with laundry and general household tidying, grocery shopping and errands when required, daycare drop-offs and pick-ups, and providing support to mum with the newborn, including feeding, changing, and settling. One parent works full-time from home, and the family would love someone confident taking their daughter to community activities and groups to help immerse them in Kiwi culture. The ideal candidate will hold a full driver’s licence with their own reliable vehicle, be legally entitled to work permanently full-time in New Zealand, feel confident balancing childcare and light household management duties, and ideally be comfortable with meal preparation or cooking. Experience with newborns is highly valued, and while Japanese speaking is not required, it would be considered a bonus.
