Job Description:

We are seeking an exceptional, experienced nanny for a wonderful family returning to New Zealand and settling in Freemans Bay, Auckland. This is a permanent, long-term position caring for one precious little boy, born 19 July 2026, with a start date of 3 May 2027. The family are looking for someone truly special who will become a trusted and valued part of their family for many years to come.

Ideally, the family would love someone who can work Monday to Friday, 6:00am–8:00pm. Given the longer hours, they would be very happy to consider a live-in nanny. Alternatively, they are open to a Monday–Friday, 8:00am–6:00pm nanny, with the remaining hours potentially covered by an au pair. The role will be completely focused on the baby and will include taking full responsibility for his daily care and routine, feeding, bathing and dressing, planning age-appropriate activities and play, attending community activities and outings, managing baby-related laundry, keeping his bedroom and nursery clean, tidy and organised, supporting his development and wellbeing, and helping with bedtime routines and transitions when the parents return home. No general household cleaning or cooking for the wider family will be required, as the family will have additional support in the home, including a weekly cleaner. The family also have a much-loved Border Collie, so someone who is comfortable around dogs would be ideal.

Both parents work demanding hours and are looking for someone they can completely depend on to provide loving, consistent and professional care for their son. They would love a nanny who is warm, caring and fun, as well as highly capable, reliable, trustworthy, flexible and adaptable. The ideal candidate will be experienced and confident caring for babies, professional yet relaxed and personable, and genuinely enjoy becoming part of family life. They are looking for someone who would be happy to join the family for dinner from time to time and travel with them on holidays when required. Most importantly, they are hoping to find someone who is looking to build a genuine, long-term relationship with the family, with the possibility of caring for future children as their family grows.

While the position does not commence until May 2027, the family are keen to find the right person well in advance and would love to meet someone who feels this could be the perfect long-term opportunity.
